In 1999, Kidsave brought the first group of older orphans to the US with the goal of finding families for them. 10 years later, we have found families for more than 2700 older kids, and have impacted the lives of thousands more. We celebrated this important milestone with two very special events.
On July 15 in Washington, DC, more than 75 Kidsave families and friends visited Capitol Hill to talk about the most basic of human rights – a permanent family for every child – and the importance of passage of the Families for Orphans Act and the Foreign Adopted Children Equality Act. The group consisted of a number of former orphans who have found families through our Summer Miracles® program, as well as some of this year’s Summer Miracles Kids. It was a busy and productive day, with the group connecting with more than twenty members of the House and Senate. Click here to see photos.
On July 18 in Los Angeles, CA, Kidsave families past and present joined together for a day on the beach in Malibu! Reuniting old friends and making new ones was the theme, with everyone having a great time. Click here to see photos.
