Key Staff

Randi Thompson, Co-Founder and CEO/Executive Director - Kidsave

Ms. Thompson co-manages Kidsave International.  She oversees the Los Angeles office, international family visit and mentoring programs and the organization's financial management.  Ms. Thompson is a marketing communication specialist with experience in all areas of market planning, formative research, advertising, public relations, promotion planning and implementation for a wide variety of issues, products, services and events. Prior to founding Kidsave, Ms. Thompson had a successful career in marketing and public relations. She has a particularly strong background in international social marketing with over 25 years of direct experience in developing outcome-based marketing and communications projects designed to effect social change, including 10 years in Russia and Eurasia. Previously, Ms. Thompson was the Executive Vice President of Porter Novelli, a public relations-marketing firm, from 1975 to 1990. Ms. Thompson has two domestically adopted children, ages 19 and 16.

Terry Baugh, President and Co-Founder

Ms. Baugh co-manages Kidsave International.  She oversees the Washington, DC office, strategy and planning, domestic Family Visit programs (Weekend Miracles), and advocacy efforts in the US Congress.

Ms. Baugh has over 25 years experience in designing social marketing projects aimed toward behavior change outcomes. She is President of T. Baugh and Company, a marketing communications firm specializing in market research and communications planning with a concentration on health and social issues. Prior to starting her own business she was a Senior Vice President of Porter Novelli, from 1977 to 1985. Prior to joining Porter Novelli she worked on Capitol Hill. Ms. Baugh has three adopted children from Russia, ages 16, 14 and 12.

Lauren Reicher-Gordon, Vice President, Director of Family Visit Programs

Ms. Reicher-Gordon directs Kidsave's Family Visit Programs, including program development, budgeting, staffing, policy, procedures and compliance, event planning and public relations. She also serves as support and liaison to all program participants, including volunteers, affiliated agency personnel, social workers and in-country staff.

Ms. Reicher-Gordon has more than 25 years of experience, including serving on the Community Council / School Governance for Overland Avenue School in Los Angeles for 11 years, where she was responsible for developing strategies to improve student achievement. She also functioned as Fundraising Chairperson for Overland Avenue School for children's enrichment programs and was Vice-President of Merchandising for Judy's Merchandising Corporation for 7 of her 15 year buying career. She managed her own small gift business for 5 years prior to joining up with Kidsave. Ms. Reicher-Gordon has three children, ages 16, 14 and 11.

Martha Eugenia Segura, Legal Representative, Kidsave Colombia

Martha Segura, BA in Social Communications, Master in Rural Development and graduated in 2005 as an MPA at the Kennedy School of Government in Harvard University.

Since November 2005, Ms. Segura has worked as the Kidsave Colombia representative responsible for finding new ways to help Colombian children have the right of living with a family.

Ms. Segura was the Executive Director of the Confederación Colombiana de ONG (Colombian Confederation of Non-Governmental Organizations), a network of some 1,100 NGOs throughout the country. She has represented the NGO community as a promoter of the alliance between NGOs, the private sector and the government to work for peace and democracy.

Prior to her work with the Confederation, Ms. Segura was an Inter-American Development Bank consultant and worked in several departments of the Colombian government, including the Ministry of Education, the Rural Development Fund and the Program for State Modernization, where she was responsible for developing labor-adjustment programs for displaced workers.

Valeria Pavlova, Director, Representative Office, Kidsave Moscow

Valeria Pavlova is a Marketing and Public Relations specialist with experience working in social, political and business public relations in Moscow and other regions of Russia.  She has been successful in developing strategies and carrying out campaigns aimed at promoting major local and international companies and firms.  Before joining Kidsave, Ms. Pavlova worked with Creative Marketing, and was instrumental in developing the social marketing campaign that increased inquiries for families in Russia to participate in Kidsave’s local family visit program.  Ms. Pavlova joined Kidsave in June of 2005 and took over as director of Kidsave’s representative office in September of that year.

Natalia Trefilova, Director, Representative Office, Kidsave Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

Ms. Trefilova directs Kidsave’s representative office in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia, which was founded in 2005 and launched its first family visit demonstration program soon thereafter.  Among Ms. Trefilova’s duties is the development of a strong local private sector support base for the family visit program, so it can become self-sustainable within three years. 

Ms. Trefilova graduated from the Perm University, middle Russia, with a teaching degree in English.  She then worked as an elementary school teacher in Perm and college teacher in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.  An experienced administrator and trainer, Ms Trefilova held a position in the Sakhalin government with the Bookselling Administration.  Later she worked as Deputy Manager of the private construction company.  Her experience in Sakhalin includes contacts with government regulators and administrators at all levels.  Prior to joining Kidsave in October 2005, Ms. Trefilova spent the last ten years working in the telecommunications business for the British-Russian company “Sakhalin Telecom Mobile” as Assistant to the President; she also served as Secretary of the company’s Board of Directors.  She is fluent in English and Russian, and experienced in working with multinational organizations, particularly those representing the oil and gas industry in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.  Ms. Trefilova is married and has two adult children.
