LA Bachelor Adopts Two Through Weekend Miracles Program

By February 2006 when Christopher, age 13, and his younger brother, Brian, age 11, were selected to participate in the Weekend Miracles program they had already been in the foster care system for two years and placed in four different homes. Despite the lack of family ties which so typified their lives in that time, they still strongly desired a family. Michael, a bachelor living in Los Angeles, always wanted kids and when he considered the idea of adoption, he mostly envisioned himself with younger children. Fortunately, he learned about Weekend Miracles through a family that participated in Kidsave's Summer Miracles program.

In October of 2006 Michael met Christopher and Brian at a Kidsave event; and somewhere between playing basketball and carving pumpkins with the two boys, Michael came to realize that he had found exactly what he was looking for. Less than a year later, on August 27th, 2007, their adoption was finalized and they couldn't be happier! The boys are now strong advocates for Kidsave's Weekend Miracles program and can often be found volunteering at our advocacy events.
