This policy covers how Kidsave treats personal information that Kidsave collects and receives. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.
Information Collection and Use
We do not ask you to submit personal information (information that allows us to identify you) if you are just browsing at our website. However, you may not be able to interact with us without supplying personal information. If you choose to volunteer or make a petition to host a child we will ask you to provide us with personal information including your name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address and other identifying information.
Kidsave automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, cookie information, and the page you request. A "cookie" is a small piece of data that is sent to your browser from Kidsave's server and is stored on your computer's hard drive. Kidsave uses cookies when you submit a form or when you visit our on-line Shoppe to register for events, purchase merchandise, or make a donation. The information that we collect and share is anonymous and not personally identifiable. It does not contain your name, postal address, telephone number, or e-mail address. Also, we have no relationships with third parties advertisers that collect information on you internet browsing activity (e.g. DoubleClick, AdSense, and many others.)
Credit Card Information
Kidsave employs third parties for credit card processing (LinkPoint) and merchant account services (Card Service International). If you have opted to donate on-line, become a sponsor, register and pay for events, or purchase merchandise from our on-line Shoppe, we share your personal information, including credit card or billing information, with these service providers. While we believe these credit card processing companies are upstanding and will treat your personal information responsibly, we do not own or control them.
All on-line transactions are done on a secure server.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Kidsave does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:
- When people volunteer we provide their information to our staff or trusted volunteer partners (e.g. community coordinators of our Summer Miracles program) and local government personnel associated with our Weekend Miracles Program.
- Once individuals come forward to participate in our programs, confidentiality agreements are shared and signed.
- We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
- We may share aggregate, statistical and other non-personal information with other third parties. For example, we may share the number of our website visitors for purposes of grant writing to obtain funding. These aggregate statistics do not include personal information.
Confidentiality and Security
We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.
We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect personal information about you.
