Kids Seeking Families

U.S. Summer Miracles Program Overview

Kidsave’s Summer Miracles Program brings orphaned children from foreign countries to the USA to enjoy a summer with a family. These are older, forgotten children, ages 5 through 13, who have little or no chance of finding adoptive parents in their own country.

When you host a Summer Miracles child in your home, the rewards are many. You’ll get to know an orphaned child and enjoy a rich cultural experience as you introduce your host child to fun, new experiences, as well as new people – all with the goal of helping him or her find an adoptive family.

We know from experience that these visits make miracles happen. Since 1999, more than 1400 children have traveled to the US as part of our Summer Miracles program, and 93% of them have found families who have adopted them or are pursuing adoption.
Many others have found ongoing support to help them become productive adults in their native countries.

This summer, Kidsave will bring children from Colombia and Taiwan who are living in orphanages to communities across the U.S. If you have room in your heart and home, consider supporting Kidsave and hosting a child.

Summer Miracles communities and locations

A Summer Miracles community consists of local families who together commit to hosting children for five weeks during the summer. Host families also help raise funds, organize events and advocate for adoption through local media and community organizations. Volunteers become mentors or provide medical, translation, event planning and many other services.

Kidsave provides training and support to participating families. We collaborate with social workers, home study agencies, child welfare advocates, health professionals and government officials to find safe, appropriate families for children with none.
