LA KIDSAVE NEWS

Holiday Event Fun

Kids and prospective hosts had great fun building gingerbread houses and decorating them at our holiday event, December 4th. Together they also played board games and ate to their heart’s delight! We look forward to watching some very promising connections grow in the New Year!

Thank you to H.Wood (www.thehwood.com) and Wendy Parker (www.wendyparkerevents.com) for hosting this special holiday event and to Keith Ferrazzi and his amazing Ferrazzi Greenlight staff (www.ferrazzigreenlight.com) for all their support.

Kidsave LA Kids
See Lakers Game

Kidsave Los Angeles received the Slam Dunk Award from the Anthem Blue Cross Foundation and the opportunity to for kids in foster care in our Weekend Miracles program to attend a Lakers game. It was an exciting treat for all to see a game from the Staples Center suite, and enjoy a win by our home team Lakers!

Weekend Miracles

Selena and Miriam enjoy the moment as kids arrived with their Hosts, and excitement is in the air.

Weekend Miracles

The court seen from the Suite; the Weekend Miracles kids watched warm up shots by the pro players, and had quite a view of the game.

Weekend Miracles

Peter and TaWanesha share smiles as they wear their new Lakers pins given out by Anthem Blue Cross and the Lakers Youth Foundation.

Weekend Miracles

Harbinzon, Jaime, and Eric revel in the win, after the Weekend Miracles group cheered the Lakers on while they clinched the game!

How to get involved

Become a Weekend Miracles Host Parent: Host parents welcome a child into their home for weekend visits and through advocacy and events, help other adults meet the child and learn of his/her desire to be adopted. Expanding the circle of individuals who know (or know of) the child makes it more likely that we will find an adoptive family for the child.

Read the Weekend Miracles Host FAQs (PDF)

Become a Weekend Miracles Advocate: Advocates help children find adoptive families by speaking with other adults, sharing information and planning activities where interested adults can meet the children.

Become a Weekend Miracles Volunteer: Volunteers are always needed to help organize events, help with program promotion and more.

Want to learn more? Attend a Weekend Miracles Orientation as well as our Weekend Miracles Family Events. Family Events are held each month and provide adults and youth the opportunity to meet in a relaxed, fun environment.
