Meet the LA Kids Needing Families

If you are interested in learning more about any of the children needing families, please contact Lauren Reicher Gordon at Lauren@kidsave.org

Urbano

LA Weekend MiraclesUrbano is a name of Spanish origin that means “from the city.”   Born in 1993, Urbano is definitely a city kid at heart, but he also loves the great outdoors.  Included in the activities that Urbano likes to do on a regular basis are playing basketball, spending time with friends, playing video games, reading, and listening to music.  Although Urbano enjoys his solitary moments, this teenager has a lot of friends and is always the life of the party.

Those who know Urbano find him to be a well rounded teen who is very secure in who he is.  Perhaps this comes from the great attitude he has which seems to radiate from him.  Open minded and easy going, nothing is too corny or too boring for him to try at least once.  Urbano may be a kid at heart, but he is also a mature and thoughtful young man.  He hopes to be adopted into a family where he can attend family gatherings and learn and grow with them.  Urbano would most certainly benefit from an adoptive family who can cultivate his natural talents and abilities.

Urbano is looking for an adoptive family or a host family who will partner with him to find an adoptive family.

Sambria

LA Weekend MiraclesSambria is a warm hearted and empathetic young lady born in 1999. Although shy at first, she greatly enjoys the company of others, both kids and adults. Her bright eyes and striking smile will bring you in, and her conversation skills will keep you engaged. She is sincere, optimistic, and mindful of the thoughts and feelings of others. Amongst her other adorable qualities, Sambria enjoys collecting teddy bears, making arts and crafts, and listening to pop music.

Sambria would best benefit from a family that’s supportive and encouraging, yet structured. She occasionally needs someone to help keep her on track, especially her with her math assignments.

Sambria’s brother, Ricky, is also in the Kidsave program, and she would like to keep contact with him. She hopes to find a patient and loving family that she can spend some quality time conversing with; could you be that family?

Sambria is currently looking for an adoptive family or a host family who will partner with her to find an adoptive family.

David

LA Weekend MiraclesSweetheart. That’s the best word to describe 16-year-old David. He is a sweet and engaging young man. He may appear to be shy and reserved, but once he gets to know you better, David is very expressive and fun to be around. He loves football and he’s happy to be playing it, watching it or reading about it. He is currently in the 10th grade. David does have learning disabilities and he does struggle with school at times. But that hasn’t dissuaded him from wanting to get a double major in music and business when he finishes high school. David dreams of having a career in the music industry. But not as a singer or musician. He wants to work on the production and management side. That way he can enjoy two things he really likes, music and leadership.

David can have a very outgoing personality, but he does particularly well in smaller settings. He responds very well to individual attention and would love to have someone to help him practice his studies. He longs for a family that is dedicated to providing him with love and structure. He’s worried that his time is running out because he will be seventeen soon. But it’s not too late. David can still have the forever family that he deserves. David has learned the importance of family connections. He recently had contact with his mother for the first time and would like to continue to have contact with her. He’s eager to have a forever family and he wouldn’t mind having some siblings too.

David is looking for an adoptive family or a host family who will help him find an adoptive family.

Elijah

Elijah plays the baritone in the band at school and especially enjoys traveling for band competitions. Elijah is also a fan of sports, cars, and roller coasters. He likes to cook (just the basics so far)and his favorite foods to eat are seafood and sweets. Elijah doesn’t like to watch much television, but does enjoy movies. Other hobbies include talking on his walkie talkies, spending time on the computer, or writing in his journal. Elijah misses living with his brother Travion and would like to be together with him in an adoptive home. If not adopted with his brother, Elijah would very much need a family committed to helping him maintain regular contact with Travion. Could yours be the home Elijah is longing for?

Jeric

LA Weekend MiraclesJeric, born in 1995, is a mild mannered and sweet boy who is looking for a family with whom he can form a connection and that can provide him stability and permanence.

When you are making a connection with him, there are many interesting things to get to know about Jeric. He’s game for trying new activities and experiences, and really likes to skateboard and play basketball. Jeric also has a fondness for sneakers, always looking for the next best pair to play in. And when he's not hard at play, he takes pride in his appearance and enjoys going to the barber shop to get unique designs in his hair. As for school, Jeric claims that the work is not hard, but he does become easily bored. Jeric needs someone to get him interested in school to make it a stronger suit for him. Jeric has kept some relationships with his relatives, and this shows his ability in maintaining connections in his life. Ninka, Lafayette and Shirley

LA Weekend MiraclesNinka’s smile can melt the “Ice in Iceland.” Her captivating personality greets you instantly and you’ll find yourself engaged at once. Ninka describes herself as being a nice and calm young lady who likes basketball, cooking and cleaning. She has a quiet yet outspoken charm about her and is reflective and treasures fond memories of family and friends. She enjoys spending time with her siblings, just “clowning around” and having a fun time.

Ninka is learning more about herself and what she finds to be interesting. She is self-motivated and says that she wants to “help people” as a career goal. Ninka responds well when she has caring, supportive and encouraging people around her to offer advice and direction, and will take to heart those important “pieces of advice” that come her way. She is focused on accomplishing her future goals of completing school and working with people. Ninka is an average student who likes going to school. Like many young teens, her biggest challenge is balancing the time spent between school and friends. She does not participate in any afterschool sports or club activities but is very open to engaging in weekend activities.

Ninka would thrive in a home that offers stability, nurturing, guidance and a lot of love.

He is contemplating trying out for a sports team in the near future. Lafayette is making good progress in school. He is a bright student and is encouraged by teachers and adults to apply himself consistently. He has aspiration of attending college but is not quite sure what direction he would take. He also said that is proud to follow the footsteps of his older sibling and may enlist into the military after graduating high school.

These three siblings are willing to be hosted by separate families but would like to be adopted together by a family.
