Kidsave Weekend Miracles Meet the Kids Summer Carnival event was a hit!
Even the heat couldn’t stop the summer fun. The 100-degree heat seemed to only fuel the energy during our July Weekend Miracles event—a carnival!
The Weekend Miracles youth and the families interested in hosting or adopting them spent the afternoon getting to know each other through carnival games. A favorite was the pie-eating contest, which left faces messy but with big smiles! Other activities included an orange toss, a sack race, and a hula hoop station.
After working up an appetite while playing games, everyone enjoyed hot dogs, watermelon, and of course, leftover pie! During lunch, the kids and families had the opportunity to spend even more time together. We also celebrated the birthdays of three of our Kidsave kids—Yasir, Alton, and Anthony Q.
Both the kids and families walked away from the carnival having made new friends and valuable connections. Thank you to all of our volunteers, families, and all involved for helping us to create a comfortable and fun environment to help find kids loving mentors and families!
