We recently received heartbreaking news that our dear friend and amazing Kidsave volunteer, Andrew Ley, passed away on January 25th from cancer. Andrew was only 37 years old – it’s hard for us to believe that this beautiful, talented, wonderful man is gone.
Andrew supported Kidsave over the span of 9 years through his dedication to our annual gala. He brought with him a cadre of amazing volunteers and seamlessly coordinated our guest management program every year, making sure everyone who attended felt appreciated.
He loved our kids especially and working with our Kidsave Ambassadors, alumni who found families through our programs. He treated others with great respect and made everyone feel special. When Andrew was there, you always knew that everything would be fine, that he would handle any problems that arose with his well-known grace and wit.
We will sorely miss his beautiful smile, his calm presence and his warm heart. Our souls are aching, but we are grateful to have known such a caring individual who brought people together for Kidsave and the older youth we serve. His legacy of love and kindness will be remembered and honored throughout our organization.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Hollywood Forever in the Masonic Lodge from 3-6pm. All are welcome to attend. Andrew’s friends and family have requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Andrew Ley Volunteer Memorial Fund at Kidsave in his honor.
