Noelle Scaggs of Fitz & The Tantrums helped our Kidsave family grow this past weekend.

On October 22nd, Noelle Scaggs of Fitz & The Tantrums invited friends and family to an incredible private brunch to raise awareness for Kidsave’s mission to connect older children growing up in orphanages and foster care to families. Noelle first heard about Kidsave when she was asked by Kidsave board member, Aimee Cilic, if she would perform at the Annual Kidsave Gala. This didn’t work out due to a busy tour schedule, but Noelle and her manager Lisa Nupoff attended the gala the following year.

“We fell in love with the work that Kidsave was doing and the stories that were being told by the children who had been impacted by Kidsave’s programs. The children who had gotten adopted after years of believing they wouldn’t have this opportunity. It was heartwarming”, Noelle said to her guests at the event this past Saturday. The more Noelle learned about Kidsave, the more she knew she wanted to be involved.

Guests feasted on a delicious gourmet meal cooked on site by renowned chef, Bruce Kalman, and participated in an exciting silent auction. They also heard from Kidsave CEO Randi Thompson and Kidsave program alumni, Galina Carson and Brandi Moore. Galina and Brandi told moving personal stories of the challenges of life growing up without parents in the child welfare system, and how their lives were transformed by finding loving families through Kidsave. They encouraged guests to become involved and create Kidsave stories of their own.

Kidsave would like to thank Randall and Sharon Wixen for opening up their beautiful home for the brunch, to Bruce Kalman for the impeccable meal, to Jason Berkowitz and Lars Francisco for the spectacular event planning, to Michelle Darlene for photographing the event, and to all of the volunteers who made the event a success. We would also like to thank the in-kind sponsors; Bird Pick Tea & Herbs, Mama’s Boy Infusions, and Sweet Lady Jane. And lastly, a very special thank you to the incomparable Noelle Scaggs for planning and organizing such a memorable afternoon and introducing us to so many new friends and supporters. Noelle, you are such an important part of the Kidsave family!
