Project Description

Dena and Molly – Age 13 and 14

Dena and Molly are staying in the N. Carolina community.

There is a grant available to help offset the costs of the adoption of the sisters. Please contact Lauren Reicher Gordon at lauren@kidsave.org if you are interested in learning more.

Dena is 13 years old and in the fourth grade. She would proudly tell you that she is the 7th best student in her class. At first, Dena can be shy, but once you get to know her, her spunky and independent personality shines through. Dena enjoys playing with dolls, doing arts and crafts, swimming, music and riding her bike. She likes dresses and having her hair brushed/styled. One day she would like to be a police officer.

Molly is an independent, well-behaved, and creative 14-year-old in the 5th grade. Molly is very skilled with her hands and enjoys drawing and working on foam craft projects. She would love to learn to play the guitar. In her free time, Molly likes going out for walks, reading, doing puzzles, learning English, spending time at the shopping center, riding her bike in the neighborhood with her friends, and spending time with other people. One day she would like to be an engineer.

“Dena and Molly have consistently demonstrated their ability to adapt to new situations, to learn new tasks and to flourish under challenging conditions”, their host family says. “They’re a sweet and content pair who are open to others and new experiences and frequently wear huge smiles across their faces.”

Dena and Molly dream of having a family they can rely on, who will support them and provide opportunities for a better future and help them fulfill their dreams.
