On Saturday, January 20, 2018, four of Los Angeles’ finest chefs took the time to prepare a gourmet meal paired with award-winning wines at a private dinner for Kidsave supporters. This dinner, hosted at the home of Cindy and Bob Wexler, was a live auction item jointly purchased by the dinner guests at the 2017 Kidsave Miracles Gala in LA. Thank you Cindy and Bob for being such gracious hosts! 

Kidsave would like to give a big shout out to Chef Vartan Abgaryan, co-owner and executive chef at 71Above, Chef Nicholas Shipp, executive chef at Upper West in Santa Monica, Chef Bradley Miller, chef and partner at Inn of the 7th Ray Restaurant in Los Angeles, and Chef Valerie Gordon, of Valerie Confections, renowned pastry chef and chocolatier, for donating their time and talents to support Kidsave.

Peter Schwartz, a long-term Kidsave advisor and organizer of the event had this to say: “The Kidsave “Chefs’ Dinner” was the highlight of the year. So much fun exposing friends to Kidsave – and the good it does, by bringing them together for an all evening dinner with amazing wines and food (which I might have been willing to ignore just to have more of the hand-made chocolates). Chefs from LA’s best restaurants actually cooking in the host’s kitchen and many 90+ rated wines. I think there were 96 wine and beverage glasses at the table for our charitable decadence! All attendees pledged to bid at Kidsave’s next Gala for the opportunity to do it again next year.”

The dinner raised over $11,000 for Kidsave. The funds raised from this live auction item will go towards finding families and lasting connections for older orphans and foster youth.
