It’s fitting that as we celebrate the National Day of the Girl that one of our Kidsave girls is meeting with great success.

Victoria Gill, a Kidsave Summer Miracles child hosted from Kazakhstan in 2003, spent her summer as an intern at the Tumor Vaccine Group at the University of Washington in Seattle and they have just extended her internship.

She spent five weeks learning the ropes including splitting DNA, cloning it and then sending it out for sequencing!

We are particularly thrilled about Vika’s success as she told Kidsave several years ago that she had only aspired to be a secretary when she was in the orphanage.  When she came to the US she realized it might be possible to be a doctor.  And now, her work at the Tumor Vaccine Group is helping her reach her dreams.

See Vika featured in one of Kidsave’s earliest videos that explains how Kidsave got started HERE. Vika is interviewed about halfway through.

We are so proud of you Vika.

You go girl!
