Our kids bravely say “Yes” to finding a mentor or adoptive family. We empower them by giving them a voice and choice in who they say “Yes” to, in who they want to get to know better, and who might ultimately become their forever family.
And we challenge caring adults to embrace the “Yes” and make a difference in the lives of kids in care. It’s a challenge to answer the call of “Can I do more?” “Yes” to being a mentor. “Yes” to opening your heart and home as a host family. “Yes” to changing a life as an adoptive parent. “Yes” to changing the way they think about kids in care. “Yes” to getting more involved.

Kicking off Gala festivities, our D.C. Gala brings together families formed by our programs. Hear how your support is changing the lives of kids and families across the country and around the world.
We will be honoring two incredible community leaders, Darell Booker and Sixto Cancel. Darrell Booker, leader of the Nonprofit Tech Acceleration of Black and African American Communities at Microsoft and member of the Advisory Committee for Kidsave’s EMBRACE Project, will receive the Inspirational Voices Award. And Sixto Cancel, the CEO and Founder of Think Of Us and dedicated child welfare advocate, will receive the Champion for Change award.

Join us at our second annual Kidsave Miracles Gala in Houston, TX for a magical night filled with great food, thrilling auctions, and firsthand accounts of the life-changing power of connection.
We will be honoring Mary Koenig with our Houston Inspirational Voices Award. Having experienced the foster care system as a child, Mary overcame many challenges to become a scholar, educator, performer, and valued member of her community. She is a wonderful example of the importance of saying ‘Yes’
to holding onto hope no matter the obstacles we face.
