Our Summer Miracles Kids have arrived!

After a long flight from Colombia, the first group of kids arrived in Houston, filled with excitement (and a little bit of nerves, too.) Host families anxiously lined the hall of the airport, waiting to greet the kids. They brought handmade signs, snacks, and even some teddy bears! When the kids arrived and rushed into their host families’ arms, their nerves dissipated, leaving only smiles and tears of joy.

This year’s Summer Miracles communities include California, New York, New Jersey, DC, Georgia, Wisconsin, Florida, Virginia, Minnesota, Indiana, Washington, and Montana! Forty-one kids traveled from Colombia for 5 weeks of new experiences, new places, and learning new things. Each child will be staying with their host family as the families champion the kids, introducing them to people in local communities to find them adoptive forever families.

Our Summer Miracles program sees 4 out of 5 kids find a forever family, a record we’ve proudly maintained since launching the program in 1999.

This year our goal is for all 41 kids to find forever families!

Local community events are being held during the kids’ stay so that prospective adoptive families can meet the kids while they are here. Across the U.S., community events are a great way to increase the chances of finding the kids’ forever families and an excellent way for the host families and kids to meet each other regularly and build that all-important support network.

If you have ever wondered about adoption, now’s your chance to put those thoughts into action and meet the kids while they’re here! The Kidsave weekend events are a great way to get to know the kids in a laid-back, fun environment and build connections. See how to contact us, meet the kids, and start the process.
