Recently, Weekend Miracles Los Angeles held an event at Pinz! Bowling Alley which brought together older kids in foster care with potential adoptive families and mentors for a day of connection, joy, and possibilities, thanks to our amazing partners WonderTent Parties.

For many children in foster care, the journey to finding a forever family can be fraught with uncertainty and longing. Often overlooked due to their age, older kids face unique challenges in navigating the complexities of the foster care system. However, Weekend Miracles’ monthly “Meet the Kids” events offer them a glimmer of hope – a chance to meet individuals who may become their future parents or lifelong mentors.

Held at the vibrant Pinz! Bowling Alley, the event provided a relaxed and enjoyable setting for children and prospective families to interact and get to know each other. Amidst the sounds of rolling balls and laughter, meaningful connections were forged as kids played board games, ate lunch together, and some learned to bowl for the first time!

But beyond the entertainment and festivities, Weekend Miracles Los Angeles served a deeper purpose – to create lasting connections and change lives. For the children who attended, the event was an opportunity to envision a brighter future filled with love, stability, and belonging. For the families and mentors who participated, it was a chance to open their hearts to children in need, either as a potential forever family or a supportive mentor.

Programs like Weekend Miracles remind us of the power of compassion, community, and human connection in a world often overshadowed by adversity and uncertainty. Through the tireless efforts of organizations like Kidsave and the generosity of sponsors like WonderTent Parties, we can help create a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive and flourish in the loving embrace of a family.

About Weekend Miracles

Many wonderful kids in our Weekend Miracles program need a mentor, host, or adoptive family. These older kids in foster care are growing up without the stability and love that all kids need to thrive. If you want to adopt or host an older child, please contact us.
