Bowled Over By Fun
At our March Los Angeles Weekend Miracles event, our kids and potential families enjoyed great fun and delicious food as we gathered together at Pinz Bowling in Studio City. Before everyone began bowling, the kids mingled with families interested in adoption as they shared a meal together.
With slices of delicious pizza being enjoyed, kids and families mixed in the venue’s spacious dining area. Over lemonade and a variety of pizzas, families and kids enjoyed their meals, swapped stories, and began building connections. When the feast was over, it was time to bowl!
For many of the kids, this was their very first time bowling. But any anxiety about bowling into the gutters was alleviated once the bumpers were raised to help the kids – and more than a few adults – get the most out of each turn. Soon, the clanking of pins being knocked down echoed from lane to lane as we witnessed strikes and spares aplenty.
Any nerves about meeting new people (for both the kids and the adults) soon gave way to cheering and laughter as everyone got to know each other. As each frame progressed, we could see everyone’s confidence building as the kids and adults helped each other with tips and tricks to knock those pesky pins over.
And as is often the case, the kids who were most hesitant about taking part in the beginning were the ones reluctant to leave when the day drew to a close. With a final cheer and blossoming connections being made, the kids and adults all had a great time, and we can’t wait to see them all again at our next event!
