What to Expect When You're Hosting or Fostering for the First Time
August 3 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm PDT
| FreeWhether you're new to foster care or preparing to host through Kidsave for the first time, this training will help you feel more informed, prepared, and confident. We'll explore the key similarities and differences between traditional foster care and the Kidsave Hosting model, using a side-by-side timeline to help frame expectations.
Common behaviors seen in foster and hosted children—and practical tips for managing and preparing for them.
Who’s who in the life of a fostered or hosted child: Using a form provided by a child’s attorney, we’ll break down the roles of social workers, CASAs, attorneys, and others, so you know who to contact in different situations.
Predictable and unpredictable events: We'll talk about what to do (and who to call) when things don’t go as planned—from minor bumps to more serious concerns.
This is a great opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and walk away with real-world tools for your hosting or fostering journey.
