Kidsave’s Summer Miracles will host a meet-and-greet for families interested in adopting a Colombian orphan 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7 at Park Tavern, 3401 Louisiana Ave. S., St. Louis Park.

Families are invited for bowling, to meet the four visiting children from Colombia, and speak to host families and volunteers. Kidsave will also have representatives from Children’s Home Society available for questions.

The children, ages 10-14, will be in Minnesota for five weeks in hopes of finding “forever families.” As older children, they have little to no chance of finding adoptive families in their own country. Kidsave staff members, volunteers and host families work find adoptive families for these children over the summer. More than 1,750 children have come to the U.S. through this program since 1999; 83 percent have found adoptive families.

In addition to meeting prospective adoptive families, the children attend summer camp and learn about American culture.

Park Tavern has a full menu, along with a children’s menu, available for purchase.
