Some children just left the United States, heading back to their home country of Colombia.

They are hoping to return to the United States through a program that helps place them with adoptive parents.

“It really means something that I have a mom and a dad and siblings,” Gustavo Grams said.

For most of his childhood, Gustavo lived with foster parents in Colombia, but he always wanted a family.

“I do remember once, when I was in school, I see all the parents pick up the kids. It was kind of sad. It made me a little sad that I didn’t have my own parents to pick me up,” Gustavo said.
